Peer Review Process

The first evaluation step is the selection of articles by the Editorial Board according to criteria established by the Journal. Once this Board understands that the manuscript meets the scope of the journal and that the minimum necessary documents have been submitted, the manuscript will go to one of the Associate Editors, who will forward the material to two internal or external reviewers. The review will be double-blind, and reviewers will have up to seven days to accept the review invitation and, if they agree, they will have another twenty-one days to submit their review. Reviewers can advise: manuscript rejection; accepted after extensive modifications; accepted after minor modifications; accepted without modification. If there is a discrepancy between the evaluations, a third evaluator can be invited. Reviewers can suggest that another professional review the manuscript (eg, a statistician). Editors coordinate information between authors and reviewers, with the final decision on which articles will be published based on the recommendations made by the reviewers. Once the manuscript is accepted and requires modification, the authors will have 21 days to submit the manuscript with the suggested changes, as well as a response letter to the editor, clarifying which points were adjusted and the reason for the non-adjustment of others in a reasoned manner. (if necessary, include a bibliographic reference). Approved articles may undergo minor editorial revisions to facilitate their clarity and understanding, without altering, however, their content. The modifications made will be signaled to the authors for approval of the final version. If the text requires many changes, the editor will recommend that the article be returned to the authors for the necessary adjustments. When rejected, the articles are accompanied by the editor's justification and may be resubmitted for later editions, but in a new submission. Articles submitted to the journal will be processed free of charge for the authors.
