Desviar de programas: Vilém Flusser nas fronteiras entre arte, tecnologia e política

The intersections between art and technology are broadly studied in the arts, but there are few philosophical approaches on the subject. This paper, which is situated in this gap, analyzes some ideas of Vilém Flusser. According to Flusser, the Greek term techne has been divided into a part that was objectified in the domain of science and qualified as the only kind of rigorous knowledge, and another part that was subjectivized in the domain of aesthetics and disqualified in its epistemological value. Therefore, in the scientific context, techne was transformed into technology and deprived of aesthetics, ethics and politics, whereas, in the artistic context, it was transformed in art works deprived of knowledge and separated from everyday life. The problem is that objectivity and subjectivity are abstractions in relation to concrete knowledge, which is always intersubjective and thus political. Therefore, it would be necessary to overcome the rupture between art, technology and science to politicize them, that is, to rescue a kind of knowledge connected with collective values, ideas, techniques and aesthetic experiences. Considering these ideas, this paper addresses a few examples in which art and technology work together to politicize the debate on both.References
