Walden Two
a case study of John Dewey's influence on B. F. Skinner's educational proposals

B. F. Skinner acknowledged the influence of John Dewey on the educational proposals in Walden Two in his autobiography. Therefore, this text aims to systematize the similarities between the educational practices described in Walden Two and Dewey's philosophy of education. The article is divided into three sections. The first provides a synthesis of the context surrounding the book's publication and its narrative. The second section analyzes the four main characteristics of the education system in Walden Two and their affinities with Dewey's educational philosophy. The third section concludes that the analytical-behavioral principles presented in Walden Two align with Dewey's philosophy in education, highlighting the philosopher's influence on developing an education grounded in behavior analysis.
