Abstract

The present research proposes to trace interdisciplinary dialogues between theater, law and education. Through the Brechtian theatrical and literary dramaturgy "Mother Courage and Her Children", written in the Nazi period, it seeks to exemplify how politically and historically engaged art has a fundamental role for the multidimensional and multicultural dissemination of Human Rights Education. Through the humanist theory of Candido (2002; 2006), the theory of reception of Iser and Jauss (1979) and the epic theater of Brecht (2002) it is intended here to analyze the emancipation and social protagonism of the subject of rights in the face of oppressions, violations and inequalities that occur in society. Through the study of the plot and the characters of the theatrical work "Mother Courage and her children" it is intended to problematize the daily emptying of citizenship, otherness and human dignity.
