ABSTRACT
This article deals with the crushing process of Britamix company in the municipality of Fires/ PB and noise inherent to the same process. The crushed rocks are a major mineral aggregates, which is indispensable in construction. Therefore, the process for obtaining the aforementioned aggregates can generate undesirable noise inside and outside the area of the mineral aggregates production company. The objective of this research is to analyze the levels of environmental noise arising from the crushing process, caused by the company Britamix stampings Lmtd, and whether the accounting policies are in accord with the Brazilian and International Environmental Law. The method made use of a decibelimetric device to take measurements on the levels of noise or sound pressure. This research, therefore, is of quantitative character and field. The results showed that, when held the decibelimetrics measurements, the company under investigation be within the standards set by the NBR 10.151da ABNT and WHO with regard to the measurements made at the company's yard and the pollution source disabled, in order words, the Environmental Noise (RA). Since the measurements beside the heavy machinery, the level of noise exceeded the limits set by the NBR 10151 of ABNT, although according to WHO recommendations is within the established standards.
