This study uses multi-criteria analysis and geoprocessing techniques to identify potential locations for the installation of floating solar photovoltaic systems on Sobradinho Lake, in the State of Bahia, Northeast region of Brazil. It is believed that the combination of GIS and fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS allows assigning merit to mapping categories according to various evaluation criteria. GIS includes constraint factors and criteria. With GIS it is possible to add layers of restriction and reduce the study area by eliminating areas where the installation of floating photovoltaic systems is not permitted. Climatic, socio-environmental, and technical-environmental aspects will be considered, such as solar radiation, temperature, and distance to the substation. The results show that 24.04% of the total area of Sobradinho Lake has medium or high potential for implementing photovoltaic systems. Furthermore, using different criteria, the multi-criteria decision analysis method (fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS) can also be replicated for other studies.
