Abstract

This article seeks to bring together productions by black artists from Pará that dialogue with the image of Zélia Amador de Deus, professor emeritus at the Federal University of Pará, actress, anthropologist and activist of the Black Movement. Intuitively, reflecting on how the thoughts and political actions carried out by Zélia Amador de Deus relate to the affirmation of black identity in the Amazon of Pará. The main scientific, theoretical and methodological references of this work are based on the black epistemologies of Zélia Amador de Deus (2008), bell hooks (2019), Angela Davis (2018), Nilma Lino Gomes (2017), Beatriz Nascimento (1985) and Gabriela Monteiro (2019). To this end, the works produced by black artists who represent the image of Zélia Amador de Deus in their works will be discussed, based on their possibilities of building knowledge through Art and Anthropology. Thus, taking into account the proposals of anthropologist Hélio Menezes (2015) and artist Rosana Paulino (2011), it does not concern art produced by black artists, in this case in dialogue with the works and narratives of artists Ceci Bandeira, Antônio Ricardo (Katulesi), Moyo Monifa and Mandy Barros, as well as the artistic production of the author of this article.
