Practical education in family coexistence of adolescents from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina

ABSTRACT
Objective: to identify parenting coercive and non-coercive educational practices in family life, involving adolescents in the triple border: Foz do Iguaçu - Brazil, Ciudad del Este - Paraguay and Puerto Iguazú - Argentina. Method: cross-sectional study with 2,788 adolescents, students of border cities, who answered a semi-structured and self-administered questionnaire. The study was an approved research project by the Research Ethics Committee, Opinion 357/2011-CEP. Results: there were 98.4% of adolescents experiencing educational practices, 50.2% were female and 44.2% were male. Non-coercive practices are significant, mostly in Brazil and Paraguay. Conclusion: the production of violence in family life. It is suggested that the countries under study seek the structuring of a tri-national border policy, to face domestic violence and the adoption of non-violent educational practices. RESUMO
Objetivo: identificar as práticas educativas parentais coercitivas e não coercitivas na convivência familiar envolvendo adolescentes na tríplice fronteira: Foz do Iguaçu–Brasil, Ciudad del Este–Paraguai e Puerto Iguazú–Argentina. Método: estudo de corte transversal, com 2.788 adolescentes, estudantes dos municípios de fronteira, que responderam a um questionário semiestruturado e autoaplicável. O estudo teve aprovado o projeto de pesquisa pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, Parecer 357/2011-CEP. Resultados: 98,4% dos adolescentes sofreram práticas educativas, 50,2% são do sexo feminino e 44,2% do sexo masculino. As práticas não coercitivas são significativas, em sua maioria, no Brasil e no Paraguai. Conclusão: há produção da violência no convívio familiar. Sugere-se que os países em estudo busquem a estruturação de uma política de fronteira trinacional para o enfrentamento da violência familiar e a adoção de práticas educativas de não violência. Objetivo: identificar las prácticas educativas parentales coercitivas y no coercitivas en la convivencia familiar, envolviendo adolescentes en la triple frontera: Foz do Iguaçu – Brasil, Ciudad del Este – Paraguay y Puerto Iguazú – Argentina. Método: estudio de cohorte transversal, con 2.788 adolescentes, estudiantes de las ciudades de frontera, que respondieron a un cuestionario semi-estructurado y auto aplicable. El proyecto de investigación del estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación, parecer 357/2011-CEP. Resultados: 98,4% de los adolescentes sofrieron prácticas educativas, 50,2% son del sexo femenino y 44,2% del sexo masculino. Las prácticas no coercitivas son significativas, en su mayoría, en Brasil y en Paraguay. Conclusión: la producción de la violencia en la convivencia familiar. Se sugiere que los países en estudio busquen la estructuración de una política de frontera trinacional, para el enfrentamiento de la violencia familiar y la adopción de prácticas educativas de no violencia.
