Abstract

This work aims to study the process of teacher education in Geography as well as the analysis of laws that regulate it, emphasizing the training of an education professional based on the changes and needs of society, based on the discussion of the current teaching-learning process. in geography and university teaching. Teaching is considered as an intellectual and practical activity, which requires greater intimacy on the part of the teacher with the investigative processes, since the content he has learned and with which he works are theoretical constructions based on research. Its pedagogical practice requires constant reflection, creation and recreation of knowledge, which presupposes a permanent investigative activity, and it is up to the teacher to develop this same practice with students, as research is research, and when researching one learns to learn and by learning one learns to think. Therefore, the following questions arise: how to train a good geography teacher? What can Geography withits teaching? To carry out the research, a literature review was carried out, emphasizing teacher training and the teaching-learning process in geography and documentary research
