In recent years, both basic and higher education institutions have faced significant challenges due to global transformations and the increasing demand for connectivity, requiring adaptations to new educational paradigms. In this context, the integration of digital technologies into teaching processes becomes an important element in the educational landscape and in the classroom. Research has shown that in Geography education, the attempt to incorporate digital technologies into teachers' practices has been one of the obstacles to overcome, as it is undeniable that historically the teaching of the subject has faced difficulties due to being considered by many students as tedious and decorative. Therefore, this text aims to present the importance of integrating educational technologies into Geography education, emphasizing the training of teachers in initial and ongoing education so that they can use technological tools in a purposeful and reflective manner in the classroom. To this end, the research-training method was adopted, with didactic instrumentation workshops and interviews conducted with Geography undergraduate students from public institutions, as well as teachers of basic education who teach the subject, both in Pernambuco. The results reveal the need for a more contextualized formation directed towards the realities faced by both schools and teaching practices, especially regarding the use of technologies for pedagogical purposes. Additionally, the urgency of expanding and implementing programs on digital inclusion already existing in municipal and state education departments is highlighted.
