Análisis bottom-up del nexos agua-energía-alimentos en la amazonía oriental

Resumen

El concepto de nexos se aplica en muchos contextos globales para entender las relaciones entre los sectores del agua, la energía y los alimentos, y en investigaciones que buscan mejorar las condiciones de vida de comunidades marginadas. Los estudios sobre nexos son incipientes y se basan principalmente en metodologías cuantitativas “de arriba hacia abajo” (top-down), utilizando una escala nacional, con pocos ejemplos de enfoques participativos y colaborativos. Surge la necesidad de comprender, de manera integrada y participativa usando enfoques “de abajo hacia arriba” (bottom-up), cómo entienden las comunidades afectadas los nexos entre agua, energía y alimentos. En este trabajo ayudamos a llenar vacíos de conocimiento sobre estos nexos en la Amazonía Oriental y describimos procedimientos metodológicos para enriquecer la geografía humana y socioambiental. Se aplicaron metodologías cualitativas y cuantitativas (Matriz FODA y Metodología Q) para determinar de abajo hacia arriba los nexos agua-energía-alimentos en comunidades rurales y ribereñas del Nordeste de Pará. Identificamos de manera empírica cuatro subjetividades que muestran de qué manera las comunidades entienden estos nexos: Factor 1: Ingresos y agua; Factor 2: Prioridad energética en el nexo; Factor 3: La comida es la prioridad; y Factor 4: Conexión agua-energía-alimentos. Los resultados podrían servir para lograr una gobernanza más sustentable e inclusiva de los nexos entre agua, energía y alimentos.
