The main objective ofthis article is to clarify if Laclau ́slate discussion on populism, presented in On Populist Reasonintroduces a new perspective on two relevant concepts in his theoretical work, articulation and antagonism. This research develops a general reading of the uses of those two categories within two relevant work in Laclau ́s theoretical project, which are Hegemony and Socialist Strategyand On Populist Reason. Is it possible that in On Populist ReasonLaclau introduces a new meaning for those two categories in his political analysis or the meanings of articulation and antagonism remain unaffected by the very specific concern with populism in his late works. We conclude that, despite many changes in his discourse theory, there is a theoretical continuity his use of the categories of articulation and antagonism.
