Country-city relationship: a socioeconomic analysis of the immediate region of três corações

Abstract

In the midst of changes in territorial dynamics, discussions about the relations between the countryside and cities must be put on the agenda in the studies of geographic science. The region is located in the south of Minas, a region that in its beginnings had a strong connection with the “farm”, a factor that may have been fundamental in the current spatial configuration of the region. Where there is the absence of large cities, the presence of some medium-sized cities, which are configured as regional centers, and the existence of many small cities that have their culture and landscapes strongly linked to the dynamics of the countryside. But knowing the changes in the economic dynamics inthe last centuries, we propose to make a socioeconomic analysis and description of the municipalities of the Immediate Geographical Region of Três Corações, approaching the present countryside-city relationship. In addition to investigating the factors that contribute to Três Corações playing a central role in this region. As for the theoretical-methodological approach, the work was developed following a quantitative and qualitative approach, elaborated through bibliographic research on key concepts and data collection, for this, we used the SIDRA-IBGE and IMRS (FJP) platform.
