The presence of artistic design in the training of architect and urban planner

Abstract

The text aims to reference the use of drawing applied in architecture and urban planning training.The format highlights teaching-learning practices developed in the Artistic Drawing subject, of an evening course at a Higher Level Institution, and also points out theoretical foundations of the process. The worked out authors are: Perrone (1993), Batlle (2011), Silva (2021), Knoll and Hechinger (2003), Iavelberg (2003), Castro (2014), Ostrower (1998, 2004) and Dondis (2001).The discussion titles are: 1. Architectural and Urban Planning Drawing: defining the concept and expanding the discussions of a cutout, the sketch; 3.2 Freehand drawing: reflecting on its current need; 3.3 Three-dimensional model: equalizing points with the two-dimensional drawing; and 3.4 The design and degree of signature. The results show how wealthy each step taken becomes – now, the drawing, as in Perrone (1998, p. 459), “represents architecture not only as an image of itself, but also as a possessor of the world vision that makes its conceive”.
