A Supremacia dos Desejos

Abstract

Este ensaio procura evidenciar nas heroínas dos contos Noite de almirante e A senhora do Galvão, de Machado de Assis, características do personagem classificado como “sujeito do desejo” pela psicanálise e “Demoníaco” por Lukács. Esses personagens por serem idiossincráticos, apresentam uma primazia em satisfazer seus desejos egocêntricos e descomprometidos com a sociedade. Ao contrário do herói épico que não distanciava pensamento e ação, o personagem machadiano, por ser moderno, traz a marca da desarmonia e do autodesconhecimento.
