Meanings of reproductive labor: mothers during the pandemic and the functioning of the pre-constructed

This research, based on the assumptions of the Materialist Discourse Analysis and the Social Reproduction Theory, examines the effects of the pandemic on subjects identified as women concerning their relationships with the reproductive labor. We undertook our interpretative gesture using the materiality of a podcast episode published on online platforms in April 2021. By employing the notions of pre-constructed (Pêcheux, 1997) and excess (Ernst, 2009), we were able to observe the effects of the reproductive labor on the subjectivation process of women, engaging in a discussion about the relationship between work and the process of ideological interpellation.
