Abstract

This experience report presents analysis of the observations conducted at the Application College of the Federal University of Pernambuco (CAp-UFPE). The main objective is to discuss the internship experience from an ethnographic perspective. The adopted methodology was based on the ethnography of school practice, enabling the analysis of interactions within the school environment. The report is structured into three main axes: (1) methodology and the construction of observation; (2) the school as a sociocultural space and the role of students; and (3) dynamics in the teaching of Sociology. In the first axis, the ethnographic approach and the process of entering CAp-UFPE are detailed. The second axis discusses youth identity in the school environment, analyzing students’ participation as historical subjects with unique trajectories. The third axis examines pedagogical practices in Sociology, including the challenges present in classroom dynamics. The experience at CAp-UFPE revealed the complexity of school interactions and the importance of methodologies that are attentive to students' realities, highlighting the role of Sociology teaching in developing critical thinking.
