Abstract

This essay, written in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, pays tribute to the test preparation course Vestibular Solidário, an extension project linked to the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE)’s Dean Office of Culture and Community Outreach Program (Proexc) and Center for Edu-cation  (CE). In this text, we aim to address the experiences of a former student and of an extension sector’s coordinator,  in 2017. The test pre-paration course aims to assist students from public schools and students from private schools granted with scholarships that are preparing for admission to public universities and other colleges, also possibilitating the teacher-student integration based on a non-vertical relationship, and forming students as critical beings, with autonomy in society. In this sense, the access to a university is a right and, through social transforma-tion, as an extension project, Vestibular Solidário breaks the university walls through educational practices related with the Freirean vision of the Pedagogy of the Oppressed and with Liberating Education.
