Abstract

This article aims to present the different responsibilities attributed to the Landless Movement (MST) with regard to the spatial dynamics of an area, as is the case of the municipality of Boa Vista do Tupim, and the social role of the Movement, in addition to the challenges faced and the means found for the permanence of rural workers in that locality. Although they seek to see the world, with regard to their ideological concepts, in the most community possible way, not only is mutual aid able to live the MST, so the Movement resorts to the formation of associations and also depends on the marketing of its products for their permanence in certain places. This article also seeks to show the importance of the Movement in the political and social formation of individuals who are part of the settlements and camps. And to present the guidelines and positive transformations that the Movement promotes in the geographic space, since this is a responsibility towards the society in which we live. In addition to bibliographic support, this work was carried out due to a field trip by a Geography class in the third year of high school and was written through reports from settlers, campers and MST leaders in the region.
