The need for restoration of degraded areas of Caatinga, due to years of exploitation of the native species, has required research on the production and quality of forest seedlings. However, a major constraint for the production of seedlings are plant diseases that can cause significant losses. Thus, the aim of this study was to perform a survey in tree nurseries and in Caatinga native vegetation, diagnosing and identifying main, pathogenic or not, fungi associated with seedlings and trees of native species of the Caatinga. The survey was carried out with samples of leaves of aroeira-do-sertão (Myracrodruon urundeuva), baraúna (Schinopsis brasiliensis), catingueira-verdadeira (Poicianella pyramidalis), caraibeira (Tabebuia aurea), pau-ferro (Caesalpinia leiostachya), jatobá (Hymenaea courbaril) and ipê-roxo (Tabebuia impetiginosa) grown in nurseries of the cities of Juazeiro-BA and Petrolina-PE. Leaf samples were also collected from native vegetation in the rural area of Petrolina-PE. The genera detected by direct analysis were Alternaria sp., Oidium sp., Ovulariopsis sp and Uromyces sp., and by indirect analysis were Alternaria sp. and Colletotrichum sp. The presence of the genera Oidium sp was observed in aroeira-do-sertão and baraúna, Ovulariopsis sp in ipê-roxo, Alternaria sp. in aroeira-do-sertão and pau-ferro, Colletotrichum in aroeira-do-sertão and Uromyces sp. in jatobá.
