The objective of this work was to evaluate the floristic and structural composition of a fragment of managed dense Ombrophylous Forest in the Jari River Valley, Eastern Amazon, Brazil. All trees with a diameter at breast height (DBH ≥ 10) cm were inventoried, measured across 15 permanent plots measuring 100 x 100 m (1 ha). The sampling sufficiency of the floristic survey was verified using the species-area curve. Species diversity between sampling subunits was measured by the Shannon Diversity and Pielou Equability Indices. To characterize the horizontal structure of the vegetation, density, frequency and dominance (relative and absolute) were used. Furthermore, ecological importance values and diametric structure were considered using the Sturges method. Before the implementation of forest management, there was a high representation of the families Fabaceae, Sapotaceae, Chrysobalanaceae, Burseraceae, Lauraceae, Moraceae and Lecythidaceae, representing 60% of all trees inventoried. After carrying out the management, the most important species were Dinizia excelsa Ducke, Licania micrantha sagote Mig and Vouacapoua americana Aublet. There was high diversity and low ecological dominance of the species, while the diametric structure showed a negative exponential distribution. It was possible to conclude that, on average 12 years after implementing minimum impact management, the structure, floristic composition and richness of the vegetation resemble those of a forest undergoing rapid regeneration after logging. In general, the density of individuals reduced considerably after management with reduced impact exploitation. However, it was not possible to detect differences in terms of tree species diversity in the managed area.
