EnglishAbstract
In Brazil, technical information on neem cultivation is still limited. In this context, the objective of the study was to evaluate the biometric growth and regrowth of neem plants with organic fertilization and limestone application. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four replications. The treatments were arranged in a 2 × 5 factorial scheme, as follows: soil with and without agricultural limestone and five doses of cattle manure (0.00; 0.96; 1.92; 2.89 and 3.85 kg plant-1). Plant height, stem diameter, absolute and relative growth rates in height and stem diameter and the number of shoots on the stumps were evaluated. The doses of cattle manure increased the growth in height of neem plants by 15.4 and 24.5%, respectively in the soil without and with limestone. The application of calcitic limestone associated with cattle manure at a dose of 3.85 kg plant-1 promoted the highest neem growth.
