0 presente artigo aborda a ação do fascismo e do antifascismo italianos no Centro-norte e Nordeste do Brasil entre 1922 e 1942, procurando compreender o processo pelo qual eles se inseriram na vida das comunidades italianas dessas regiões e o grau de resposta dessas comunidades. As relações do fascismo com a estrutura da lgreja Católica nessas regiões e com o lntegralismo são especialmente enfocadas.
This article deals with the actions of fascist and anti- fascist Italians in north-central e northeast Brazil, from 1922 to 1942 and seeks to understand the degree of influence which those groups exercised in the Italian communities in these regions. Special attention is paid to the relationship between Fascism and the structure of the Catholic Church and between Fascism and the lntegralist Movement.
