A pesquisa arqueológica no Rio Grande do Norte tem se desenvolvido bastante nos últimos anos. Na região centro-leste do Estado trabalha intensamente a equipe de Arqueologia do Museu "Câmara Cascudo", e no oeste, particularmente na região de Mossoró, o Mestrado de História da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, está realizando levantamentos de sítios arqueológicos em colaboração da Universidade Regional de Mossoró.
Archaeological research in Rio Grande do Norte has developed a lot in recent years. In the central-eastern region of the state, the "Câmara Cascudo" Museum archeology team works intensively, and in the west, particularly in the Mossoró region, the Master of History at the Federal University of Pernambuco is conducting surveys of archaeological sites in collaboration with the Regional University of Mossoró.
