A BOTIJA DE RIO FORMOSO E OUTRAS HISTÓRIAS
Abstract
Vistas aqui como um artefato cultural e histórico, as botijas foram constantemente reinventadas por várias tradições, entre elas, os tesouros deixados pelos holandeses no período colonial e as fortunas ocultadas pelos senhores de engenho. Este artigo visa problematizar as narrativas sobre essas riquezas encantadas, que subsistem à contemporaneidade, possibilitando pensar a dimensão fantástica que constitui a vida de seus crentes, à medida que expressam seus desejos e suas visões de mundo, que revelam tensões sociais, reatualizadas a partir de novos campos de batalhas.
