Abstract

Neste trabalho procuramos iniciar uma reflexão acerca do imaginário que a sociedade urbana da zona açucareira colonial constrói sobre os homens marginalizados que compõem as tropas da Coroa Portuguesa nesta área. Para isso, analisamos discursos da Coroa sobre a inutilidade dessa tropas, assim como situações que exemplificam a influência desse imaginário nas condições materiais de vida desses homens.

This article searches for a reflection about the imaginary built by the free urban society from the sugar colonial area about the marginal men that composed the troops of Portuguese Crown in this area. For that, we worked with the Crown speeches about the uselessness of this troops and with situations illustrative of the soldiers material life conditions.
