Abstract

A concepção de tempo acompanha, sempre, a reflexão do historiador. No cotidiano, muitas vezes, não percebemos o quanto ela é valiosa, para que se possa organizar a vida e estruturar as possíveis identidades culturais da sociedade. 0 livro de Nobert Elias é um ensaio que traz subsídios importantes para se pensar o tempo como uma construção social. A dimensão simbólica do tempo é ressaltada o que ajuda a ver os objetos da cultura permeados pelas mudanças e permanências que marcam a construção da história.

Time conception always follows the historian's reflection. In everyday life, we often do not realize how valuable it is, so life can be organized and the possible cultural identities of society can be structured. Nobert Elias's book is an essay that provides important insights to think of time as a social construct. The symbolic dimension of time is emphasized which helps to see the objects of culture permeated by the changes and permanences that mark the construction of history.
