O presente artigo pretende fazer uma discussão em torno da relação entre história e educação. A análise do primeiro volume do livro do sociólogo alemão Norbert Elias, O Processo Civilizador, traz a educação como parte de um condicionamento em que os homens, particularmente os europeus, num espaço de mais de cinco séculos, se tornaram civilizados. Considerando a tese de Elias de que não existe atitude natural no homem, o processo histórico de ensino-aprendizagem se tornou, também, essencial ao chamado desenvolvimento dos modos de conduta e responsável direto pela formação de um modelo de civilização que se espalhou pelo mundo.
The present article intends to do a discussion around the relationship between history and education. The analysis of the first volume of the German sociologist's Norbert Elias book, The Civilizer Process, brings the education as part of a conditioning in that the men, particularly the Europeans, in a space of more than five centuries, became civilized. Considering Elias' theory that natural attitude doesn't exist in the man, the historical process of teaching-learning became, also, essential to the call development of the manners of conduct and responsible direct for the formation of a civilization model that dispersed for the world.
