TERRA BOA, GENTE RUIM: HISTÓRIA E MEMÓRIA DO DEGREDO NO BRASIL.
Abstract
Baseado em fontes primárias, ❑ texto investiga a história dos degredados portugueses no Brasil colonial, examinando também como a historiografia construiu imagens de degredados através dos tempos. O artigo argumenta que uma das mais fortes e duradouras representações do povo brasileiro — a de um "povo ruim" que habita uma "terra boa" —, parcialmente construída pela historiografia, relaciona-se à presença dos degredados no país e à memória construída sobre eles.Downloads
