Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objeto o papel do conhecimento históri-co na criação do Estado nacional brasileiro. Busca examinar em que medida a ruptura com a metrópole foi acompanhada de um conheci-mento histórico do passado colonial como base para uma posição críti-ca face ao mesmo. A análise das questões acima colocadas está centrada no exame do pensamento de Jose Bonifácio.
