ELEIÇÕES, CIDADANIA E CULTURA POLÍTICA NO SEGUNDO REINADO.
Abstract
As eleições no Império representavam um acontecimento dos mais importantes e rotineiros da vida política brasileira, embora ainda sejam relativamente escassas as pesquisas direcionadas para esse tema. Este texto analisa as práticas políticas próprias do período eleitoral, enfatizando, particularmente, o esforço do governo e das elites para impor sua vontade política à população com direito a voto, bem como para garantir a ordem social no curso das eleições na província de Pernambuco na segunda metade do século XIX.Downloads
