Comida, Cultura e Energia
Abstract
As interpretações de um sistema alimentar mundial devem levar em consideração sua emergência inicial há, pelo menos, cinco séculos, assim como as relações mútuas de energia e cultura no seu subseqüente crescimento e complexidade mutante. Neste artigo, um esboço dos estágios históricos da alimentação mundial antecede um contraste entre um passado de sistemas de alimentação amplamente autárquicose os atuais, quando a produção e o consumo geralmente aparecem independentes um do outro. O artigo conclui com uma discussão a respeito da energia no mundo e oferece algumas predições (AD 2005), que foram confirmadas desde então por eventos globais.Palavras-chave: Comida; cultura; globalização; combustíveis fósseisglobais.
