MARACATUS-NAÇÃO ENTRE OS MODERNISTAS E A TRADIÇÃO: DISCUTINDO MEDIAÇÕES CULTURAIS NO RECIFE DOS ANOS 1930 E 1940.
Abstract
O presente trabalho tem corno objetivo discutir a presença da cultura popular nas manifestações culturais e artísticas do movimento modernista, nas décadas de 1930 e 1940, em Pernambuco, enquanto geradora de temas identitários, contribuindo para a constituição de um modo de ser, para a invenção da pemambucanidade. Diante da diversidade que a questão aborda, escolhemos analisar a presença do maracatu-nação nas obras de Lula Cardos Ayres, Ascenso Ferreira e Capíba. Entendemos que, para a história dos maracatus-nação, trata-se de um momento privilegiado, na medida em que o movimento de mediação cultural resultará numa legitimidade social e política do folguedo, que passa a ser visto como a mais legitima e autêntica dentre as manifestações da cultura popular pernambucana.Downloads
