This study has as its initial motivation the theoretical and practical discussions promoted by the discipline of Urban Geography offered in the Degree in Geography at the Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará (Unifesspa). This discipline aimed to: understand the theoretical bases of the study of the city and the urban, in order to allow an analysis of contemporary processes of urban dynamics, highlighting as a practical methodology: Field Work, carried out in the city ofMarabá -Pará. This article reflects a qualitative and descriptive perspective, divided into three moments: 1) Bibliographic and Documentary Analysis; 2) Report of field practice and 3) Application and analysis of opinion questionnaires, answered by students who participated in the field. Through field practice, it is expected that it can significantly contribute to the teaching-learning process of students, since it enables the development of a more critical perception of the reality in which they are inserted, including social and political relationships. and economic, which materializes and permeates geographic space. In this sense, therefore, fieldwork can be understood as an essential step in the formation of students in Geography, by providing the interactions of phenomena, considering the locus in the approximation and systematization of theory-practice, in addition to its use by future Geography teachers from the perspective of basic education in school teaching, working from the perspective of place, from the local to the global.References
