Abstract

O artigo apresenta algumas reflexões sobre a possível incorporação de idéias matemáticas originárias da África na educação matemática no Brasil. Informa e interroga sobre algumas atividades em curso, tais como o Projeto “Brasil-África: Histórias Cruzadas”, uma parceria do Ministério da Educação e da UNESCO e sobre a disciplina “Exploração de aspectos matemáticos de culturas africanas, afro-brasileiras e indígenas na educação matemática” lecionada no primeiro semestre de 2011 na Universidade de São Paulo.
