Immigration of populations in latin america in globalization times and the media

Abstract

he aim of this text isto dialogue the processes of immigration of populations in Latin America in globalization times, giving visibility to thoses eeking to immigrate to the United States and Brazil with expectations of better living and working conditions, in order to get out of poverty. This approach will be carried out based on the analysis of cultural media artifacts: the documentary “La Bestia” (2010) direct by Pedro Ultrares, and three reports in the Folha de São Paulo periodical of eighteen, twenty-one and twenty-three of August 2018, wich publicized the immigration of Venezuelans to Brazil, a fact that hás caused conflicts between them and Brazilians in then orthem region of the country, in the city of Pacaraima, in the state of Roraima, and xenofobia practices.
