Abstract

The manifesto A pedagogy of Multiliteracies: Designing Social Futurescelebrates today, in 2021, 25 years of its publication. We aim here to do a (re)reading of the manifesto as thorough and attentive as possible in other times and places different from the ones in which happened its conception and for that we return to theseminal text (1996) in its original version in English, also relying on translations and theoretical framework whose pedagogy of multiliteracies is the core. We concluded hat there is a need for constant (re)reading of the manifesto because each (re)reading is inserted in social and cultural contexts that are changeable over time.

Author Biography

Ricardo Tavares Martins, Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sertão Pernambucano (IF Sertão-PE)

Possui graduação em Licenciatura Plena com habilitação em Línguas Portuguesa e Inglesa e nas suas respectivas Literaturas pela Universidade Regional do Cariri - URCA (2012) e Especialização em Ensino da Língua Inglesa pela mesma universidade (2015). Iniciou carreira como docente em cursos de língua inglesa, atuou na rede privada de ensino fundamental e atuou como professor na rede estadual de ensino cearense lecionando Inglês e Espanhol na Educação Básica de Nível Fundamental e Médio. Atualmente é professor EBTT dedicação exclusiva Classe D II Nível 1 da rede federal de ensino no Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sertão Pernambucano (IF Sertão-PE) onde atua nas disciplinas de Inglês e Português Instrumentais nos cursos Técnicos modalidades Subsequente e Integrado em Nível Médio em Logística e Refrigeração e Climatização, além das disciplinas de língua inglesa na Educação Básica de Nível Médio. É membro do GELINSE - Grupo de Estudos Linguísticos do Sertão.
