Abstract

The pedagogical practice provides enriching experiences for teacher training, as well as for the main target audience, learners. In view of this, the objective of this work was to develop a didactic activity with the students of the 6th year of elementary school to help them to understand an important area for analysis and understanding of geographic space: cartography. It is emphasized that maps and charts were included to understand the subject. At the end of the accomplishment of this pedagogical practice the students of this school age analyzed and understood the importance of the cartography for the understanding of the space and the relation society and nature.

Doutorando em Geografia pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia (PPGGEO), na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) em Santa Maria, RS. Bolsista CAPES. Mestre em Geografia pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia (PPGGEO), na mesma Universidade. Bolsista CAPES (2016). Especialista em Educação Ambiental pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Ambiental (2017), na mesma Universidade. Graduado em Geografia com habilitação em Bacharelado e Licenciatura pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) / Faculdade de Ciências Integradas do Pontal (FACIP) / Campus Pontal, em Ituiutaba, MG (2014). Discente Membro do Grupo de Pesquisa: Núcleo de Estudos Regionais e Agrários (NERA).
