To awaken students' interest and critical view of the geographical space of Marialva-PR, a place of globalization

Abstract

This article is based on the analysis of the pedagogical practice of Geography in basic education, focusing on the importance of studying global themes analyzed by local scales. Therefore, verifying how students are aroused by curiosity and participation during classes, since these should allow communication between teacher-knowledge-student. Hence, this work has as its foundation the construction of geographic knowledge from the interlocution between the study of the global through the local. To this end, it refers to a pedagogical practice carried out at the Pedro Viriato Parigot de Souza State Civic-Military School, in Marialva, state of Paraná. Of the various themes addressed in the classroom, two of them became the target of a methodology focused on the study of the global through the local. That subject that is so distant to the student, with multi-scale analysis, these distances are shortened and sometimes contrasted, that is, it makes the student see the geographical problems through the decomplexities promoted by the teacher, whose role is to mediate knowledge and the student. With this, it is clear that, in the classroom, the student becomes familiar with the theme to the extent that it is encountered and/or related to the proximity of their experiences.
