Love of Life or Love of Death, Reflection on the Pedagogy of the Coronavirus

Abstract

We are experiencing a moment also called the normality of the exception, when theneoliberal system imposed itself as a model of financial economy to the world, since the1980s. In the current scenario, given the problems arising from the situation caused by theCovid-19 pandemic, people and institutions were affected in their daily routines. We have,then, in a macro way, a state of exceptionality. The challenge has been to find differentways to reorganize – in terms of coexistence, leisure and work – social relations, in terms of the lack of “normality”. Affected by financial imbalance, emotionaldisturbances, political disorganization or interruption of services, the pandemiccrisis calls into question, for all institutions, the need to find answers regardingthe production of knowledge that can help to face the Coronavirus. This study, ofa theoretical and analytical nature, seeks to reflect, succinctly, in an ethical andsocio-anthropological perspective, possibilities of answers about some situationsposed by Covid-19, in the Brazilian context.
