Avaliação de Desempenho dos Modelos Operacionais WRF, BRAMS, ETA e BAM em Prever Ciclogêneses

Resumo

Ciclogêneses ocorrem entre o oeste do oceano Atlântico Sul e costa do continente Sul-americano. Ciclones causam grandes impactos na sociedade e são necessários modelos atmosféricos precisos para mitigar os impactos ambientais. O atual estudo visa avaliar o desempenho de rodadas operacionais dos modelos WRF, BRAMS, ETA e BAM, que foi feita através de análises sinóticas entre setembro de 2022 e agosto de 2023. Há dois propósitos principais: identificar os erros para auxiliar na melhoria dos modelos e divulgar os erros para utilização na meteorologia operacional. Foram encontradas 92 ocorrências de ciclones e, por trimestre, foram 20 em SON22, 25 em D22JF23, 22 em MAM23 e 25 em JJA23. Os modelos apresentaram erros de posição do centro dos ciclones maiores nas longitudes. Os primeiros (segundos) desvios mais persistentes são para noroeste (sudeste) que sugere tendência de atraso (adiantamento). Quanto mais tempo de previsão do evento tende a piorar o resultado de posicionamento dos ciclones, mas ocorrem exceções devido às condições iniciais. O WRF (BRAMS e ETA) apresentou os melhores resultados nas previsões de 24 e 48h (96 e 120h). O BAM obteve melhor resultado em poucos casos. A inadequada simulação da Cordilheira dos Andes é o provável principal fator dos erros.
