Há uma verdadeira confusão conceitual envolvendo os termos diagnóstico, zoneamento, planejamento e gestão ambiental quando aplicados à dimensão territorial. Tal fato contribui para geração de equívocos ligados à produção de conhecimento, às ações educativas, bem como aos diversos procedimentos administrativos e gerenciais destinados à busca da qualidade ambiental. O presente artigo objetiva oferecer uma contribuição à necessária delimitação de tais conceitos, recorrendo à bibliografia e a exemplos para estabelecer diferenças e complementos, demonstrar limites e abrangência de cada um deles. Espera-se contribuir para uma melhor e mais adequada formulação conceitual, além do aperfeiçoamento das experiências práticas que buscam a utilização racional e inteligente dos recursos da natureza.
A B S T R A C T
There is a true conceptual confusion involving the terms diagnosis, zoning, environmental planning and management when applied to the territorial dimension. This fact contributes to the generation of misconceptions related to the production of knowledge, the educational activities as well as the various administrative and management procedures for the pursuit of environmental quality. This article aims to make a contribution to the necessary delimitation of such concepts, using the bibliography and examples to establish differences and additions, demonstrate the limits and scope of each. It is expected to contribute to a better and more adequate conceptual formulation, besides the improvement of practical experience who seek rational and intelligent use of resources of nature.
