ABSTRACT
This work, the spatial variability of temperature, relative air humidity and thermal comfort was evaluated in a spatial clipping of the city of Recife -PE, indicating to the influence of different urban landscape configurations on the local meteorological parameters. The urban clipping was selected based on the different landscape configurations, between green and non-green areas. The selected area includes one of the squares (Derby Square) and some of the busiest roads in Recife. Sampling was performed in 24 points, in three non-consecutive days (07/25/2013, 07/26/2013 and 07/28/2013), at specific times, 9h and 15h. The temperature and humidity were determined by thermohygrometer type apparatus (Digital Icel Model HT-208). Thermal comfort was estimated using the Thom Discomfort Index. Spatial analysis and interpolation of parameters were performed using geostatistical modeling, determining the spatial pattern, experimental semivariogram parameters, and selecting the theoretical models through cross validation. Temperature, relative air humidity, and Thom's discomfort index showed significant spatial variability, with a strong and moderate degree of spatial dependence, and spatial isotropic characteristics. Geostatistics showed efficiency in estimating the meteorological parameters in the city of Recife, on a small scale. The green spaces of the cliff, such as Jener de Souza Street and Derby Square, reproduced mild temperatures and greater thermal comfort.
