Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é reconstituir a origem de portugueses em agrupamentos familiares construídos no território da Freguesia da Gloriosa Senhora Santa Ana do Seridó, que era formada por ribeiras das Capitanias do Rio Grande e Paraíba, ocupadas pela pecuária desde o final do século XVII no contexto da ocidentalização. Parte de uma revisão da literatura regional que se dedicou à pesquisa dos troncos genealógicos do Seridó e toma como fonte prioritária os registros de batizados, casamentos e enterros da freguesia, no período de 1788 a 1811, analisados pelo método da demografia histórica e como recorte de análise os agrupamentos familiares formados por colonos de origem portuguesa.

 

This article objective is to trace the origin of the Portuguese in family pools constructed in the territory of the Freguesia da Gloriosa Senhora Santa Ana do Seridó, which was formed by riversides by Capitanias of Rio Grande and Paraíba, occupied by livestock since the end of the 17th century in the context of Westernization. Part of a regional literature review dedicated to the research of the Seridó genealogical trunks and takes as priority source records of baptisms, marriages and burials of the parish, in the period 1788 to 1811, analysed by the method of historical demography and clipping of analysis as the family groupings formed by settlers of Portuguese origin.

Helder Alexandre Medeiros de Macedo, Programa de Pós-Graduação em História - Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

Historiador (2002) com as habilitações de licenciado e bacharel pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, instituição que também lhe conferiu os títulos de Especialista em Patrimônio Histórico-Cultural e Turismo (2005) e Mestre em História (2007), com área de concentração em História e Espaços. Atuou como professor de ensino superior (graduação e pós-graduação) na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA), Faculdade do Seridó (FAS) e Universidade Potiguar (UnP). Prestou consultorias na área de patrimônio cultural em diversos inventários no território norte-rio-grandense. Seus interesses de pesquisa estão ligados à história sóciocultural da América portuguesa, índios, negros, mestiçagens, escravidão e patrimônio cultural. Atualmente, é doutorando em História do Norte-Nordeste pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE).
