Despite the efforts of analysts that were members and former members of the diplomatic career, and outside analysts, to consolidate a discursive and memorialistic practice that characterizes the Foreign Ministry and its staff for independence and detachment from the partisan and ideological quarrels, the analysis of telegrams exchanged between Itamararty and their embassies in Argentina and Uruguay, between 1935 and 1966, shows that was in the luxury of diplomatic offices that chancellors decisively participated of information and security activities of the Brazilian State against the danger posed by "communist threat", by performing daily tasks, such as writing informs on the activities of Brazilian exiles abroad, the presence or passage by Brazil of foreign suspects considered by political ideas and activities
