ABSTRACT
Objective: to identify the prevalence of psychological and physiological symptoms of stress in nurses from the mobile prehospital care. Method: this is a population, cross-sectional prevalence, descriptive, and exploratory survey, using a quantitative approach. Thirty eight nurses were interviewed through a structured self-applicable questionnaire, which recorded the sociodemographic data and possible secondary variables facilitating stress, besides the Symptomatologic Inventory of Stress. In data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics techniques were used (t-Student, ANOVA F, Levene F, and Shapiro-Wilk). The margin of error used was 5.0%. Results: 30% of respondents are in the exhaustion phase of stress; 34% present psychological symptoms; and 31% present physical symptoms. Conclusion: prehospital care nursing sickens both physically and mentally and the employment organizations, the academy, and the centers aimed at forming public policies passively observe this imbalance scenario. Descriptors: Nursing; Psychological Stress; Physiological Stress; Labor; Prehospital Care.
