This study aims to discuss the (dis)motivation of Youth and Adult Education (EJA in Portuguese) students during online classes. The debate starts from the experiences obtained at the Antônio Correia de Araújo School, based on the Pedagogical Residency in Geography Program of Pernambuco Federal University. Follow-ups and interventions were carried out in EJA classes, which caused concerns due to the low participation and encouragement of the students. With the new Covid-19 educational reality during the pandemic, it's recognizable that the obstacles in access to technologies and the struggles in understanding some pedagogical practices interfered directly with the quality of education and the motivation of many pupils. Thus, lots of those students were absent or interrupted their schooling because of the dynamics offered in online classes, which did not sufficiently guarantee those people permanence in school practices.
