Abstract

This article analyzes the Brazilian Educational Philosophical debate from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s, focusing on the reception of Marxism in the educational field. Our goal is to give visibility to the varied interpretations of pedagogical Marxism and the discussion produced by researchers in this field, placing them in the philosophical-educational debate of the period. Through the literature review, we verified the preponderance of a type of appropriation of Gramscian Marxism to address the pedagogical issues, represented by the works of Saviani, the questions produced by this interpretation developed by Trigueiro Mendes and some other alternatives indicated by Chauí. In this way, we contributed to reconstruct this debate in the field, whose echoes of its repercussion are heard until today in the intellectual productions of the Education area.
