Contributions of Anísio Teixeira and Lourenço Filho to the brazilian education: ppers published in BJPS (1944-1963)

Abstract

In this study we analyzed the contributions of the New School intellectuals ManoelBergstronLourenço Filhoand AnísioEspínola Teixeira to the Brazilian education. We identified the acting of those intellectuals in the direction of the National Institute of Pedagogic Studies –NIPS (INEP in original pt-br) –and in the Brazilian Journal of Pedagogical Studies –BJPS (RBEP in original pt-br). For that, we identified and cataloged published papers by both authors in the journal created by NIPS, comprising a time frame between the period of 1944, the year of BJPS creation, until 1963, the moment at which Anísio Teixeira leaves the direction of NIPS. We situate our study in the field of pedagogic prints, of intellectual history, and of teachers’ formation. We utilized concepts of the authors: Bloch (2002); Catani (1996); and Sirinelli (2003). We considered that the study of the life and work of those intellectuals is significative for the comprehension of both authors contribution to the Brazilian education. Dealing with important and varied educational thematic, the authors and educational reformers marked their propositions and ideas on the Brazilian education in 26 papers each, registered in our research
