Still on ethical education to overcome fascism: considerations about the subject of education in Theodor W. Adorno

Abstract

The interest of this article consists in the preliminary presentation of a conception of the subject from the German philosopher Theodor W. Adorno, based on his formulations on theory of knowledge and social theory, highlighting his contributions to education with regard to the formation of a subject critical, reflective and emancipated. Therefore, it is structured as follows: first, it discusses the relationship between subject and object in Adorno's theory of knowledge, establishing relationships with his considerations about Enlightenment, its limits and possibilities; then it outlines a perspective of the subject of education taking as reference the split “after Auschwitz” enunciated by the thinker from Frankfurt. Thus, it is expected to provide and stimulate other bases for reflection on an issue that is still latent in philosophy and education, without, however, intending to exhaust it.
